Come play on Battlescar
Besides, it's kinda hard to see the bigger picture as a gankfest when i'm the one doing the ganking (but no, seriously, not many people on my server will bother to even PvP, let alone gank).

Bah, well there's no point trying to convince people - my opinion will be different to the guy beside me being ganked. I'm lvl 32 and have been ganked about 3 times, so it's all fun for me.
I assume you're being camped somewhere in the underhalls/white sands? I'd say they're pretty gank heavy as they're the first chance people get to have a shot at FFA PvP (and a prime spot for higher levels to kill lowbies). Once you get out of tortage, you won't get hassled much (atleast, i haven't been).
I have to say that if you are Aquilonian, there is a small outpost just off the main city. If you attack someone, a lvl 80 guard (if in LoS) will attack you, though there are many spots around the town that the guards can't see. I'd say that so far, this is the best place i've found to PvP. Always plenty of lvl 20-40s running around causing mayhem (and not just ganking ) - great fun.
(P.S. If you were being spawn camped, why not just change instances?)
Btw, my IGN is Decius if you want it - you'll probably see me ranting in OOC often.

I'm reasonably worried about sieges atm. As we all know, most higher levels are complaining about lack of content. Now, seeing as sieges are end-game, and we've heard almost no recent information, i'm starting to think they're unfinished or something.
A guy on the forums was giving his account of siege PvP first hand, but it turns out him as his guild were actually destroying Guild cities (which was a bug, as they shouldn't be vulnerable) - they will probably get banned for exploiting now, too

Guild cities are broken and don't do anything. They don't have NPCs, don't give buffs...nothing. Even the text associated with upgrading guild cities are filled with filler text 'Lorem ipsum...'. So I dont have much hope about battlekeeps atm.

Um, sorry, but I don't like to be enjoying a beautiful and atmospheric view, only to have it broken by having to frequently kill a spiteful rogue over and over. This is why I didn't like to roll on PvP servers in WoW: I didn't "suck", I just found all the dumb players tiresome. I maxed, then transferred off. Nothing about being a bad player.

I can enjoy the scenery without fear of being ganked on a PvP server. Use the 'Hide' ability. No ganker can find you now without using the search, which they aren't going to do randomly.

...So what's the point of having a PvP server if all classes are able to flag themselves off? Doesn't seem to "hardcore", honestly.
Yes, I know I'm reverting the issue, but that's pretty funny.

I'm not quite sure anyone's saying it's hardcore. There's no reward system, no anti-griefing system - nothing to support PvP right now.
I'm just saying that it's alot more fun imo, and takes more skill to progress on a PvP server.
Playing on a PvP server, i can safely tell you 90% of the population haven't found the H button - so don't worry about there being no action.
You can safely explore whilst sneaking as long as you're careful before engaging mobs. PvP servers require that you have a level of awareness and actually use your head. That is all.

You know, I am playing right now my female Tempest of Set "Seeglocke" on the German PvP Server Aries (playing on a friend's account and system, my notebook can not run max details, but his system can do it with 4x AA and everything else. Unfortunately I sometimes have AoC crash while loading), and the best thing about open PvP is that you can kill people that post on Forums! :>
Bryant is quite right about annoying rogue characters, in AoC they are named "Barbarians". I shiver when they finally find a macro program for their combos, their stun and quick damage abilities are no fun for clothies - and everyone else.
ToS is a really great class, I also can recommend Barbarian and Dark Templar. Bear Shamans are what Ursans should be: Weak. The Demonologist and Necromancer really suck, they announced a balancing update, but well. The Priest of Mitra got nerfed, but still seems to rock hard.
Thanks god most Barbarians I encountered so far could be impressed by simple things like just pressing the button for lightning, random snare called "grounding" (lightning tree talent) or quicksand are enough to hide.
And I definitely have to agree, too many people are hidden. The stealth feature of WoW already annoyed the heck out of me, but compared to AoC it is really enjoyable.
Um, a mini review after 2 days (and level 41 - am I fast?): The atmosphere is what makes this game great. I just love the world of Robert E. Howard. It just lacks polish, balancing and unfortunately interesting content as well. The arena style pvp games are like GW random arenas, I did not enjoy them. Most people even do not know what to do in them at all.
I fear they might lose 80% of their buyers after the first month is over, as you can really level too quickly - into non-existing content! The travelling between the instanced areas is also somehow destroying the world feeling, Tobold and Keen & Graev were already talking about that in their blogs.
Right now ganking is not a problem. People just ignore other people after a certain level, at least on Aries. Thanks god the rogue class called "Assassin" sucks really hard, people who pick such classes usually feel forced to live up to the name of their class. :P

I'm enjoying the game when my computer lets me. The rest of the time, I'm busy rebooting.
So chances are I'm going to be playing GW a little more until they can either fix the game or my computer situation improves.

You kill the chicken handler, and then pick up your reward from the c**k handler.
They really need to beef up that poor lvl1 c**k as well, he never wins the fight, bless 'im.
Longasc, I'm having a blast with my ToS as well. Nuking and healing, can't be bad. Although I just rolled a HoX alt and stabbing things is fun too.
